1. What is CBD? What is CBD oil?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring constituent of industrial hemp/cannabis.  It is the most abundant non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis and is being scientifically investigated for various reasons.

CBD oil is a cannabis oil (whether derived from marijuana or industrial hemp, as the word cannabis is the Latin genus name for both) that has significant amounts of cannabidiol (CBD) contained within it. Our CBD products and extracts are derived from industrial hemp, so they could be considered CBD-rich hemp oil, hemp derived CBD oil, CBD-rich cannabis oil, or plainly “hemp extracts” since they typically contain much more than just CBD. Again, cannabis doesn’t mean marijuana but is the genus name and general umbrella term which all forms of marijuana and hemp fall under. The form of cannabis we use for our CBD and hemp extracts is industrial hemp.

2. Will I get 'High' using it?

No. Hemp extract is non-psychoactive.

If hemp extracts contain a percentage of CBD / cannabinoids, what is in your hemp extracts except naturally occuring cannabinoids?

CannaWell specialise in full spectrum and whole plant hemp extracts.  We believe that capturing not just CBD, but other cannabinoids such as CBDA, CBG, CBC, CBDV alongside terpenes, ketones, phenols and flavonoids creates a much more nutritious product enhancing the overall effect on your health and wellbeing.  Studies suggest many of the compounds in hemp/cannabis work together to produce a synergy of effects.  For example terpenes incrementally increase the effectiveness of the oil.  In simple terms, the sum total of the different compounds of this wonderful plant work better together.  This is called the entourage effect.

All our oils are blended with organic hemp seed oil.

There are over 113 different phyto-cannabinoids (phyto means from a plant). In addition to the cannabinoids present in our industrial hemp oil extracts, there are also many other types of natural molecules and phyto-chemical compounds such as amino acids, carbohydrates, vitamins (including B1, B2, B6, D, & E), fatty acids (including omega 3 & 6), trace minerals (including iron, zinc, calcium, magnesium, & potassium), carotene, chlorophyll, flavanoids, ketones, nitrogenous compounds, alkanes, alcohols, glycosides, pigments, hemp seed oil, water, and terpenes. The most common terpenes in our CBD oils are Beta-caryophyllene, alpha-Humulene, Caryophyllene, alpha-Bisabolol, Myrcene, alpha-Pinene, and many others. For a full list please view the terpine test certificates.

4. What is the difference between your Hemp CBD, BALANCE, PURE, BLEND and TOTAL oils?

CannaWell genuinely care to provide clean and fine quality hemp extract oils.  We are the exclusive European distributor for the much loved and trusted Bluebird Botanicals who are based in Colorado.  The oils crafted with care by Bluebird are:

Hemp PURE oils: the thick tar like cannabinoid rich extract is emulsified in organic coldpressed hempseed oil to give it that wonderful droppable consistency.

Hemp BLEND range: the cannabinoid rich extract is blended with cold pressed Black Cumin Seed (Nigella sativa),  wildcrafted Francincense (Boswellia carteri) oil extract and hempseed oil. Francincense and Black Cumin Seed oil are also used for general wellness and we highly recommend you research what is being shared about them.

Hemp TOTAL:  is a special formulation, it contains both the decarboxylated/heated (i.e. CBD) and non-decarboxylated/raw (i.e. CBD-A) forms of cannabinoids, in a 1:1 ratio. In addition, included are steam (water) distilled hemp extract which contains a significant amount of additional therapeutic constituents known as terpenes. Our steam (water) distilled hemp oil contains at least 26 different aromatic terpenes plus various aldehydes and ketones. With both forms of cannabinoids and the steam distilled hemp, Hemp TOTAL is the most comprehensive hemp product we know of.

More recently we have added two new oils, crafted in Europe.

Hemp CBD:  A fine CBD oil, hemp extracted and blended with organic hempseed oil.  It has a particular mild taste and is great for those who look for best quality CBD.

Hemp BALANCE:  The Hemp Balance is half way between the Hemp PURE and Hemp TOTAL.  The hemp extract contains a ratio of approx 80:20 CBD/CBDA along with other cannabinoids, phytonutrients and terpenes.  It's an all-rounder supplement.  It is worth noting that is has a slightly stronger taste than our other products.

5. What is the difference between your Original and the 6x/Plus range oils?

The original range contains a lower amount of milligrams CBD/cannabinoids per serving, whilst the 6x/Plus range details in instructions for use a higher amount of milligrams.  Further details are given on the relevant product pages.

6. Which oil should I choose?

The first choice is whether you want the original strength of concentrate oil.  In point 5 of the FAQ we've summarised the different qualities and contents of our oils.

7. What makes our hemp extract oils so good?

The hemp is grown on pristine soil, the extract is made with skill and care and is tested for potency and purity before being blended into our premium food supplements. Every step of the process is carefully handled to ensure quality, consistency and pure natural goodness.

8. How can hemp extracts help me?

A  cannabinoid rich whole plant Hemp Extract is an excellent food supplement. Consuming hemp nutrients delivers essential nutrients to our body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS) to help maintain and support it and sometimes for that extra system support.

May we suggest you research online for information and benefits of hemp and hemp cannabinoids. When doing so we encourage you to look for informational sources that aren't involved with the sales of any food supplements. There are many educational sources for cannabinoid research.

If you suspect you may have a disease or are seeking help for a specific disease you should consult a qualified medical professional before using hemp extract oil or any other food supplement.

9. What is the endocannabinoid system (ECS)?

All humans and vertebrate animals (mammals, fish, birds, reptiles) have an endocannabinoid system. The ECS is active in everyone – from before birth to the end of your life.

The ECS is perhaps the most important physiologic system involved in establishing and maintaining human health - homeostasis. Homeostasis is the ability of the body to maintain stability needed to function properly.

The endocannabinoid system (ECS) helps regulate several functions in our body such as the nervous, digestive, reproductive, immunological and endocrine system amongst others. We constantly produce endocannabinoids in our bodies, however, due to many reasons, whether it is lifestyle, pollution or any other reason our ECS may not function optimally. By taking a high quality hemp extract, nourishing nutrients are delivered to our ECS.

Endocannabinoids and their receptors are found throughout the body: in the brain, organs, connective tissues, glands, and immune cells. In each tissue, it performs different tasks; the goal is always the same, homeostasis, balance and stability, which aids our health and wellbeing.

There is much information about the endocannabinoid system (ECS) online and we encourage you to find out more about one of our body’s most fascinating systems.

10. Is hemp extract oil safe for me?

Yes. Hemp extracts are considered to be generally safe.

11. How do I take the oil?

We recommend that our hemp extract oils are dropped under the tongue, keep the oil in your mouth for 60 seconds before swallowing. This allows a better absorption of nutrients.

12. How much and how often should I take it?

The ideal serving size for different circumstances is not exactly known. The general guidance is 15 drops per day. However, some people respond to lower amount of drops, others prefer to take more. That is why we also have the concetrate range, our 6x oils. It is also worth considering the weight of a person. A lighter person most likely won’t need the same amount as someone heavier to gain a similar result.

As everyone’s circumstances are different, how your endocannabinoid system performs and reasons for taking hemp extracts vary.

There is one other important point which is that your body will build up storage of cannabinoids which can stay bound in the body for weeks. This is important to know because after taking hemp extracts for a few weeks you may find that you can gradually reduce the amount of drops you take whilst still achieving the same desired effect. Once again, this will depend on your individual circumstances. We encourage all our customers to experiment with the serving size.

Hemp extracts are considered safe and research is still in its early days. Please find out and experiment what works best for you !

13. Where is the hemp grown?

All hemp (Cannabis sativa) is outdoor grown in pristine soil by selected industrial hemp cultivars.

14. Are cannabinoids from Hemp as good as cannabinoids from marijuana?

Yes is the short answer. Cannabinoids are cannabinoids, whether from marijuana or hemp. It is also worth noting that most marijuana has a very low non-psychoactive cannabinoid profile, so most of the time hemp would be much more preferable for anything besides THC. Marijuana is usually very high in THC (gives people the high) but usually very low in other non-psychoactive cannabinoids.

15. What's the difference between Hemp and Marijuana?

Scientifically and genetically, industrial Hemp and Marijuana can be the same plant, with a genus and species name of Cannabis sativa.

Industrial Hemp is always a strain of Cannabis sativa, while marijuana can be Cannabis sativa, Cannabis indica, or Cannabis ruderalis. Marijuana, 99% of the time, has a high amount of THC and only a very low amount of non-psychoactive cannabinoids. Hemp, on the other hand, naturally has a very high amount of non-psychoactive cannabinoids, and naturally has a low, trace amount of THC.

The good news is that the cannabinoid profile of hemp is ideal for people looking for benefits from cannabis without the 'high.'

16. What is the difference between hemp seed oil and high cannabinoid content hemp oil?

Regular hemp seed oil and cannabinoid rich hemp oil is NOT the same product.

Standard hemp oil, which can be found cheaply in shops, is a very different product to our Hemp extract oils. Regular hemp oil is produced by cold pressing the seeds and is a healthy nutritious food source. But it only has only trace amounts of cannabinoids in it.

Whereas our oils contain a Full Spectrum cannabinoid extract from a supercritical CO2 extraction process of the hemp plant itself. Thus the extract contains many phytocannabinoids, terpenes and much more. A detailed analysis is listed above in point 4 of the FAQ and also in our detailed product description.
